I haven’t followed the new rules they rolled out for spring training that closely, are they really doing a pitch clock in real games?

Yeah. spring training games averaged 22 minutes shorter. Here's a good article on the rules changes. Now all they need to do is get rid of blackouts and that's apparently coming sooner rather than later.

Oh, I'm ready, broke out red shoes and everything. For some stupid reason, I'm optimistic.

This is more of a thing for royals fans than us. They knew of this injury when they made the trade. We haven't seen him play, even in spring training so it's a meh for us. I got a rock chip in my windshield repaired this morning and the owner of the shop is a Royals fan and this is all he wanted to talk about.

This is like a playoff win for royals fans. Hopefully you made a show of being steamed about it.

The Charm of the Mets is you can take a guy who never goes on the IL and whelpf. I’m still traumatized from America’s Closer (not American but most beloved) being out for the season. I’m telling myself that he Diaz would have torn his patella tension anyway and it was just a matter of time

I will defend anyone’s decision to bring a glove. Lil sd is obviously a kid but he gloved a Jake Meyers (Omaha native) foul ball. Pretty great moment.

I agree. I think it’s perfectly fine to not want a broken bone in your hand as a result of a foul ball headed your way. On that topic: 1st and 3rd base coaches. You don’t need to bare hand the foul balls coming your way nobody is going to think less of you if you just let it go

Nets go all the way to the foul poles. You're breaking your hand on a pop up????

this type of gatekeeping is helpful if accelerating baseball's demise is your goal

Friendly reminder that home runs typically have the highest exit velo and it might surprise you how frequently those home runs land where fans are sitting

They need a “K” rotated 90 degrees for strike outs via pitch clock violation

CHONGS we’re doing that thing again where we get a runner to 3rd with less than 2 outs and then can’t get him across. So far today we are 1-8 wRISP, I hate it. I like it better last season when we got those guys home like every dang time
