if i'm being honest I would happily take the mets pulling a royals and winning a championship and then being completely un-competitive white hot dog crap for the next 7 years (and probably more) b/c yeah as a sports fan, none of my other teams are showing any signs of competing for a 'ship anytime soon.

It's going to be hard seeing Max Scherzer pitching for the Mets against the Nationals this year....but we're in rebuild mode down here in DC. In Soto we Trust!

Max was a lot of fun to watch here in DC. Hopefully he doesn't do to the Nats like Daniel Murphy did to the Mets when he was around here.

There are lots of former Mets who are famous for beating the crap out of the Mets when they play again. Murph and Justin Turner have turned it to an art form. Matt Harvey sucks at it

Time for that sobering reality that 80% of the mets roster will be on the IL for at least 30 or so games. If they can stagger when key players are injured then we might just have a shot at this thing. Will Jake throw a pitch from the mound in 2022? I hope Max gives Soto a little chin music tomorrow just to put that entire organization on notice that hunting polar bears will not be tolerated. Also 40-13 on opening day the last 53 years that's ridiculous. One of my favorite meaningless stats
