There was a news story a few years back about a guy who was caught cheating at a bass fishing tournament and how that uncovered how he had been suspected of cheating at a bunch of other tournaments.  I don't remember all the details but someone got stabbed at a weigh in and all the other fishermen were ready to kill the guy. 

I DM'ed Danny McBride, linked the story, and basically begged him to make that a show.

My wife and I found MAID on Netflix to be a great show. It did a good job showing how both domestic violence and poverty become generational traps that are so hard to escape.

Give MAID on Netflix a try if you haven't already.

Please do.  I gave up after they left for Seattle.  Seemed like it was going to be just an angsty teen drama from then on.  I am not a big Ellie fan and I either don't like the way the actor plays her or the way the show writes her.  Maybe both.  IDK.

For what it's worth, I found this season slightly above average leading into last night's episode. Probably gave the whole season 4/7. I'd say it's now a 6/7 because the episode ties a lot of stuff together. Can't wait to rewatch.

Also, only 7 episodes this season?! Shucks!!

In other shows, I finished Andor and Righteous Gemstones last week so I need something new. The CGI in Andor was crazy good but I had a really hard time following everything. Like, I have no idea who some of the main characters or why Cassian and his girl are on separate planets. I would have preferred Righteous Gemstones had they cut the last episode. My favorite scene was BJ pole dancing in the second episode before the accident.

I've been giving the new Twilight Zone a shot. Good casting. Jordan Peele was behind it. It's more of a poor man's Black Mirror. There have been a few good episodes.

I need to get back into Last of Us. I loved the first season & love playing the 2nd game. The story is great for setting up great game play. Not so much a TV show. Also Bella Ramsey tries to play Elle with a teenager attitude that’s not in the game.

The girl playing Abby was considered for Elle, but she was too old for the younger Elle of season 1. She would have been a much better Elle if she was just a little younger.

It was wholesome and provided us some background that was missing in earlier episodes. That being said, I just want to see them shoot infected in the face. I also want to learn more about the more intelligent infected.

Went on a road trip w my dad to the Black Hills region of SD a couple of weeks ago, and took him to visit Deadwood. He, of course, was enamored with the place and its history. Introduced him to the show Deadwood on HBO and he is all in.

Been a pretty fun rewatch so far.
