Loved the first episode of Lucky Hank, 2nd episode not as much as the first though.

i liked the ep where Nora goes to the convention and meets billy magnussen. and also the ep that recaps the day of the departure was good. every scene with scott glenn is good.

It has run its course and I am a huge fan. The rebooting the Billionaire after Damian Lewis departure was just lazy.

Did someone on here mention Shrink on Peacock or just Shrinking?  Shrink on Peacock is really funny.

What's your beef with Ted Lasso?

I watched the first 2 seasons of Ted Lasso and thought they were super meh, corny.  Sudekis and the Owner are good, but everything else is dorky, probably kind of the point but just meh.

I realize I am a minority in my viewpoint on this.

this is a very common take in cool kid circles. (I would argue that Sudekis is the dorkiest and corniest of all). As a galaxy brain, I understand that it is extremely sappy and corny and can still enjoy it. (At least season 1, I haven't watched other seasons)

It’s a show about a wholesome fish out of water soccer coach.

Of course it’s corny.

It's a show built around a premise used in a promo that NBC Sports produced for the Premier League a decade ago.  One shouldn't expect a whole lot out of it.

There's just so much quality out there, watching it feels like watching TGIF shows from the 90's.

Except it's not funny

Maybe people find the lack of cynicism appealing.  I kind of do.

Yeah, sometimes it's nice to watch a show where everyone is generally trying to do the right thing and grow as people. It's a nice change of pace.

i don't have a beef with Ted Lasso. it just has an inherent problem where the characters are one dimensional but the writers really want you to care about them.

I'm very annoyed that the seasons into Ted Lasso, he's apparently still the dumbest man in the world. Dude has been coaching English soccer for two full seasons and doesn't know what a 4-4-2 is or who Chelsea is? The show will still work without Ted being essentially brain dead dumb about soccer.

Correct, I think it's just fun to have a more "positive" show than something less positive. It's perfectly fine, sometimes you need it. It's kinda like a convo I've had with a friend about late night TV, and he just hated Jimmy Fallon cause it was dorky/campy and no where near as thought provoking or incisive than Colbert (I get he and both I know Colbert is more neutered than he ever was on the Colbert Report and also late night isn't exactly like, "thought provoking" but you get the point) but I was like, well, yeah, that's true, but plenty of people need something to escape the world, and not constantly talk about all it's problems. Ted Lasso is IMO that analogy, it's escapism, it's fun, can be uplifting and have a plot, and not be much more than that. It's ok.
