maybe, but in "hamming up" alfie, hardy didn't blatantly ripoff of one of the most famous movie characters of all time. hardy took alfie and gave him his own quirks (which are tremendous, btw).
again, i liked brody's performance. i think doing an impression of paying homage to don corleone is fine and maybe a fun little eyewink to the audience. plus the writing of his character was decent and brody's stage presence was good and spooky.
but brody's portrayal of the mafioso boss isn't in the same universe as hardy's alfie solomons. i won't stand for that comparison at all.
