It's currently moving all my stuff from my HP. What do I need to know about using it? Any stuff I need to download or whatever?

I bought a mac about 6 months ago...haven't really downloaded any other software other than imovie which I don't think was on it by default. Just decided tonight to start moving my picture library into iphoto and considering buying aperture. use Chrome instead of safari.

it's dogshit at organizing and archiving large amounts of photos. every apple forum or blog post I've read just admits that but then points out stupid other features that I won't use. picasa is much better.

congrats on the elite laptop purchase. fwiw, i really like every single OS X app except for iphoto. it does too much of the organization for you and doesn't let you arrange anything. clams is a complete dumbshit, but you already knew that.
