So, K-State ranked graduate programs . . .

National Research Council #1 (out of 30) Graduate Plant Pathology Program in the Country.

National Research Council #4 (out of 50) Graduate Agriculture Economics Program in the Country.

National Research Council #9 (out of 58) Graduate Food Science Program in the Country.

National Research Council #8 (out of 47) Graduate Entomology Program in the Country.

National Research Council  #13 (out of 146) Veterinary Medicine Anatomy and Physiology

NRC 75th Percentile or above Graduate program: Biology (88th percentile out of 452 total), Geography (78th percentile out of 130 total), Mathematics (75th percentile out of 313 total), Physics (87th percentile out of 275 total), Psychology (76th percentile out of 785 total),  Computer Science (81st percentile out of 473 total), Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (79th percentile out of 141 total)

Those types of rankings are weird, especially when you get outside the top ten or so.  I mean, what separates them?  The rankers obviously don't have a strong understanding of every program they are ranking, so I wonder what they use as criteria.
