shower caddy to hold his toothpaste and brush and shower stuff

i can't think of much i would consider a necessity. maybe spring for some sound isolating headphones? even then, just go to the library to study if the dorm is too loud.

a white board is handy. small microwave for the room?

Planned on the fridge and micro. As to the TV & game system, the couple times we've toured it seemed that more rooms were without than with.

if he has one at home then he'll bring his with him to school, if he's not into that sort of thing then don't worry about buying one b/c he won't use it.
