Been there, I had an inguinal hernia. The surgery sucks. My procedure was done in 2011 on that Friday that floodaggie beat okie lite. I was in a lot of pain the next day watching the CTR. I couldn't even stand fully upright because of how sore my abdomen was.

After the surgery, I took about six months for me to be able to start lifting again. I'm still not back to where I was before that surgery, but that's because I haven't been as dedicated since. The potential risk for injury isn't worth chasing PR's that really only have significance to me.

I'm not sure how long I had it. I looked down in the shower one day and noticed a small lump protruding from my abdomen. I pushed on it and it disappeared, then coughed and it poked back out. Before surgery, it wasn't painful at all. After surgery sucked, sore abdomen + pain killers = no bueno, even if you take stool softener.

The surgeon put mesh in my abdominal wall, to minimize the chance of a recurrence. The other method, which I don't know the medical term for, has a much quicker turnaround time, but they don't put the mesh in.

Also, I took about six months off because I wanted to make sure that I was fully healed before I started training again. I probably could have started sooner, but I knew I would go right back to lifting heavy and didn't want to go through that again.

Sounds like your bodies are ruined forever pretty much.  They will never be as good as they were and those are the facts and you'd better just accept them now because they aren't rough ridin' changing.

First, I didn't know that was a thing and it is incredibly mumped up.  Second, these two defectives would just have more hernias from squating to poop and pee, not less.  It can't be easier and their crappy stomach muscles are already terrible at holding their guts in.
