_FAN's defensive ppp chart clearly shows OUs defense is not very good.  OU has already lost 3 games at home.  They have weak crowds.  We have a good shot at this.

They have been pretty good on offense at home -- 39.3% 3pt, 50.0% 2pt and 1.14ppp in Big 12

For some strange reason, they were just awful in the 1st half of their last home game vs Tech.  21 pts, 12 TOs in 36 poss.

On the flip side, their D is not very good and isn't very good at home.  They allow 1.08 and 52.2 eFG to Big 12 opp (their road numbers are actually better)

With OU having a week off, I really don't like our chances on Sat.  Probably like them better than our chances when we up to Ames, but not much better

Could be, scott...I was referring to the usual Carnes tenor.

I predict a really close loss with some hilarious turnovers down the stretch. A play here and there and Cats win the game.  :surprised:

Yep. oscar is 4-0 by my count.

counting 2011 tourny? oscar took down lon's unlv team pretty easily before self took down my native americans in the illinois coach bracket. (now an average weekday in the big 12.)

that unlv game was one of oscar's best coaching performances, as they came out and put the hammer down. (it was a 9/8 game, so not super impressive, but ol' oscar was well into his backslide days.)

still, objectively, i think ou wins. rootin' for you guys, tho', as all there is to look forward now as an illini fan is our brand new logo in april.

If their 3 pt % is less than Will's 3 pt %, we win.

I am pretty sure the numbers on this scenario are 100% accurate for all of history if you take out the games were sleeved Will didn't shoot a 3 the entire game except for right at the end when we were down by 10+ and he "caught fire" and hit a 3 with 25 seconds left.

Observational Facts:

they shoot 3's- we defend 3's well
they like to run- we like to defend against the run and intentionally slow it down
they have one guy named Carl Spagler who rebounds well- we have 2 big guys who will be told to stop him from doing that
they allow opposing offenses to shoot better than normal averages- we will be allowed to shoot better than normal

Maybe they also played a walkon for a lot of minutes of the 1st half?
