Nino has been great this year in relief. Sort of like a utility player who performs well in spot duty, we'll see if he can maintain production while logging more minutes. To me, a lot of Nino's value comes from being able to go "all out" for short bursts. He rarely has to worry about getting gassed or getting into foul trouble. Those will be the biggest things for him tonight, imo.
It's easy to discredit Shane's recent play, but we saw just how valuable he is in the first 5 minutes of the second half against KU. A 3-pointer, a bucket, and two nice passes to Gip. One was converted into a monster dunk, the other Gip couldn't finish. Add that to a yeoman's effort on defense that Shane provides and we'll miss him plenty.
Like was mentioned earlier, Baylor is a bad matchup to lose Shane for. That said, we've seen our guys step up in relief time after time this season. "Next man up" will have to ring true in Waco for the Cats to win tonight.
