You guys, I just got done making my daily trip to purchase my garden salsa Sun Chips.  Anyways, it got me thinking. How much $ could I make off one of these things? I mean, they have credit card swipes now for crying out loud. These things are money makers and I want in! Who's with me?

Buddy of mine's dad and uncle own a company that does this.  Both seem to be pretty darn well off.

Always has stacks of 1's and 5's to bet with on the course.

Never done the ROI but we make a quarter off every purchase(on average)
We have a whole rack dedicated to sun chips

Wow guyz, great thread, hopefully kslim can drop some knowledge on me as I have always wondered about how the business works. 

I would imagine the hardest part is finding/getting the owner to allow you to put the vending machines on their property. I'm guessing the property owner gets a certain cut?

Do you have to undercut the crap out of what the property owners were getting to get them to switch to your machines?

Do you sell them on a better selection?

Most lucrative location for a vending machine? Gotta be a school right?

How do you deal with different government places(Schools/airports/etc etc)? Do you get to bribe them?


Which makes more money for you, Soda Food or Candy?

Best selling Item?


I think the vending machines in my office are run through the same company that does our Cafeteria. Do they sub contract that our to an actual vending machine company?

my aunt has a gumball route along the st. lawrence seaway, makes pretty hefty coin.
