i haven't watched as much college basketball this year as a i did in most past years, which is a big part of why i haven't posted as much on college basketball. i've only seen a few non big 12 games, and haven't seen as many big 12 and kstate games as i usually do.
i've posted what thoughts i do have here and there, but i'm sure it's been easy to miss them. summarized:
i have no real thoughts on non big 12 teams and/or how kstate compares to other teams (other than, by now, their kenpom rating is probably fairly accurate - discounting however much you think is appropriate for opponent ft% and opponent 3fg%). i think the big 12 is a little overrated by the rpi, and all of the big 12 will probably benefit from that at selection time. i think the combo of spradling & southie form a surprisingly useful pg between the two of them. i think gippy is great, and i feel stupid for thinking the team would suffer from only having one good post when osu demonstrated all last year that one good post is usually enough. i think thomas is very fast, i think njohnson is a very good on ball defender (for a 150 lb freshman). i used to hate the other johnson, but now i more feel sorry for him and hope he transfers to a nice university somewhere quiet. i think foster is a fantastic shooter and is also better at basically everything else than i thought he'd be (but is still a pretty poor defender and probably will never be much better than big 12 average). i think embiid is an amazing player and i love watching him.
i may have more thoughts, but i can't recall them all at the moment. thanks for asking.
