I am on board with claiming the 1910 national championship. It sounds like we were really good that year and worthy of being crowned national champions.

That makes less than zero sense.  You actually made the 1910 National Title more valid by posting this.

From what I can tell, Kansas State's 10 wins in 1910 were the most in the country, so...   :surprised:

(Harvard was 8-0-1.)

Would make a push for 1918 with our 4-1 record, but Michigan went 5-0.

My mistake, Harvard was 9-0-1.

FACTS:
  • LOL, one of Harvard's wins in 1910 was against Harvard Law School.
  • Harvard played 8 of its 10 games in Harvard Stadium.  The away games were a 0-0 tie with Yale and a 6-0 win over Army.
  • Other than @Army and @Yale, other good opponents were Brown and Cornell.  Bates, Bowdoin, Williams and Amherst were trash opponents.
  • K-State's best opponents were @Colorado College (L, 15-8) and @Arkansas (W, 5-0).  Other good opponents were Haskell and @Creighton.
  • 10 wins > 9 wins.

IIRC, Jim Thorpe was playing for Haskell at the time, so we should definitely claim thy Natty

Nope.  Thorpe was at Carlisle Indian School then.  He did run away from Haskell when he was younger tho.  Thanks, Google.

LHC Mike Ahearn was a Brit.  Do you think that's why Kansas State didn't get proper recognition as national champ in 1910?  (I mean, the populists were running around a couple years earlier calling England "a monster" that had "seized upon the fresh energy of America and is steadily fixing its fangs into our social life.")  Yes it's sad in retrospect, but we have a chance NOW to right past wrongs...

Also, I can totally picture the 1910 team kicking back after their 10th win and enjoying this movie:
"I'm thankful our MHK forefathers had the foresight to lynch white dudes so that we might be able to throw up the mob with a clear conscience."

Was looking through the 1911 yearbook, to see what a national champion K-State football team looks like, and came across this guy:
