Also not at least nominating Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus for best country group/duo performance is next level awful.
They won for Pop group/duo, which is the genre that song fits in, seems pretty fair to me.

Best performances before I went to bed were Tyler, the Creator and Gary Clark Jr.  Glad Tyler won for IGOR, it’s a great album.
:adios:

i generally don't watch award shows (too political) but i did watch last night's grammy's and really enjoyed how they had the performers performing and afterwards, watch each other.  i think it's interesting to watch artists (like myself) watch other artists do their craft.

clams  highlights-
-megan looked great in that orange dress and i was happy for her win
-was embarrassed for billie eilish apologizing for winning over megan in the other category
-miranda lambert bluebird into the maren morris/john mayer the bones song
-wap was too much but also i pretty much loved it and laughed the whole time because how could you not
-i don't like harry styles and didn't care that i turned the show on late and missed his performo
-the weeknd got screwed, not a huge fan but that album at the least deserved mention in several categories
-bieber complaining about his album being miscategorized was increds, they put it in the pop category and he complained publicly that it should have been r&b.  lol.
-i don't dislike billie eilish a ton but her and post malone man, come on guys wake up
-dua lipa, she's cool and boner alert USA but i mean, good grief, pretty down year for music when she's the highlight
-bts dudes wear too much makeup

well alright folks, that's clams yearly grammys recap, have a good one and don't forget to tip your bartenders

take it to the white midwesterner thread.  i can’t believe how many times i’ve read comments from people who are shocked that she is from the uk. as if pop stars are a usa thing.

Dua Lipa is amazing, love her music. Harry Styles and watermelon sugar winning any award that isn't voted on by 15 year old white girls is an absolute embarrassment. The Weeknd should protest forever and ever. Watermelon Sugar winning and he can't even get nominated in the same category? Woof.

It's a great song. It's mind blowing to me that people in charge of Grammy nominations can hear that and watermelon sugar and think that watermelon is in any way the better song. I know these things are a matter of opinion but if someone told you that kelp should be nominated in the best seafood category but not salmon shouldn't.

i don’t want to like him but his album is legit pretty good once we accept his and all current artist’s reliance on auto tune.  absolutely has a right to be upset given what he was up against regardless of how much of a political machine that the grammys are, he should have been considered in many categories.  there was a lot missing from this year’s show and he was a big part of it.

ya rusty, there was lots of usa boners because of her performance not because of where she’s from.

I hadn't really thought of it until just now, but how weird is it that he had the Super Bowl halftime show, and then basically was persona non grata at the grammy's?

I just updated the OEM woofers on my Classic Advent Large, and they definitely like the Floydish/Prog Rock feel of several of The Weekends songs.

That just means you're falling out of touch, bro. Either have some teen children, watch more TikTok or both. I know nearly every song in the record and song category. The boomers on the academy can gtfoomf with ABBA tho, it isn't 1978.

I should have clarified that I meant that for the Rock/Metal/Alt Categories.

The pop and record of the year categories are a lot of fun and should be pretty competitive.
