please bench Omari
« on: January 14, 2014, 07:05:36 PM »
I know this has been discussed before....

Serioulsy, he came in for like 5 minutes and screwed up 2 possessions (TO and missed 2 FTs).   He was a liability on offense ( we scored 5 pts in his 4:30-5:00 playing time)

We won the game. You think you know more about basketball than oscar Weber or something?

Omari is valuable, not above 15 minutes, but he provides a spark at times.

It's a valid question. I have no idea what he brings to the table.

He occasionally is able to get offensive boards and is pretty good at finishing with contact most of the time.
Luke's stock is rising as Winters continues to validate his greatness. Add Luke and Winters to my list! Also, EMAWBLAST! and Tobias!

He's not a super star, but can be flashy in spared minutes. Was it at TCU where he had 3 great trips up and down the court? He gives hunger as a Senior and pushes our young guys when they're taking a breather. Plus, he's a master at the banked 3.

why can will play 35 minutes a game for 4 years, but other people are tired with 25 minutes?  hit the gym buttholes so we don't have to put guys like omari in.

At the end when OU had starting fouling with under a minute, oscar kept putting in Omari for defense and subbing in Nino for offense. So I guess oscar thinks Omari is a good defender? :dunno:

at the ku game, omari fouled someone that was gonna dunkshot, and that person missed the first of 2 free throws, so he saved us 1 point.  this is omari's best play of his career.

hunger, sparingly flashy (?), is a senior, a banked three, and had a few arguably great (?) trips against the worst team in the conference tho

You're dumb.

Fanning, you should go look at his per 100 stats. He provides a little on the defensive end, but his efg/to/oreb/ftr %s are all bottom two on the team. He's a huge liability on the offensive end. Much more so than anyone else who would be taking his minutes. He's not good enough defensively (he also fouls a ton on defense, because he's slow) to justify him taking minutes away from more talented offensive players. You can spin it any way you want to, the numbers say that he shouldn't play except when we're in foul trouble.

Except steals, Omari is a steal machine (when he's on the floor) and was last year as well.

to me, omari both has the body of and plays like a thirty five year old insurance sales guy at the Y on and extended lunch break. it's just so weird and i can't get that out of my head. or maybe he works at a rental car agency or does something with servicing printers or something. but def a thirty five year old or a little younger. does anybody else see the same thing when they watch him play?
