I may be wrong here, but isn't the original 7 point scale the product of actual scientific research or something?  I mean, it wasn't just "made up."

well yeah, but we are talking about trying to figure out what level you are when you are drunk.  a scale based on a prime number is just dumb.

Maybe you need to do some rough ridin' research, because I just checked Wikipedia (I didn't donate, but they keep asking. good grief Wikipedia, don't be a begger) and he said the following about prime numbers

i know, its like jfc wikipedia figure it out or whatever.

we are talking about a drunk scale pete not rough ridin' geometry or trig.  i just think a number with a power of 2 would be a better scale to indicate how pakd you are.
