I hate oscar too, but if you think he was going to win the conference in year one you're a dumbass.

1) oscar doesn't get a lower expectation standard based on his past failures.  Expectations were based on the players and angels he had.

2) It's weird and distracting from the topic - maybe that's the idea? - when you, fanning, are calling people dumbasses.

I've always imagined you with a Magnum P.I. type mustache carrying an obscure porno mag from the early 80's.  But also smelling of crap from not wiping well, and many sharts.

Webers's history at Illinois is obviously odd, but trying to recruit at Illinois is like living in a gold mine with only a spoon; all the riches in the world are right there but they're nearly impossible to get.  Groce's recruiting is nearly identical at this point.  Weber will do well at KSU since he'll be forced to recruit nationally and won't have to kowtow to the insane Chicago bb underworld constantly.

And again, for the millionth time, oscar couldn't recruit Chicago but still hauled in top 25 classes nearly every year.

If you think about it, Illinois is almost the sole reason the Big 10 isn't the most utterly dominant basketball conference: sitting there is a state lousy with spectacular prep talent only to see it casually picked off by Duke, KU, etc.  Illinois should be Syracuse-esque but they've basically been more like Purdue.  Weird.
