with locals like mokan/pnr you don't have to do anything right, you just can't do crap wrong like frank did.  the reality is that any coach worth hiring will make inroads into those programs with ease, it should be expected.

Refresh my memory...1) what's so great about mokan/pnr? 2) How did Frank "do crap wrong" in relation to these programs?

1) They have High Major D1 3-5-star/fringe-to-legit NBA prospect players.

2) check with sys, but I think Frank pissed off Shannon Spradling, Ojeleye's fams and Suther for not recruiting/placing enough players/being a meanie

frank tried to recruit over will (he knew will was garbage) and suther/huber and crew found out.  that was the end of that relationship.

A real coach who will unbutton his jacket, quit folding his arms throughout the game, abandon his haircut...and quit starting Will will be fine with me.

You have to wonder if Underwood would ever want to work with Currie again after Currie lied to him about the terms in which he'd keep Underwood on Weber's coaching staff.

HC job with around $1m salary can make ppl selectively forgetful.

Sad fact is oscar will be around as long as Currie is AD. Maybe he moves on while he's titletown hot stuff. But would Underwood even been on the radar of his replacement? All the tucks will be whispering Henson in that person's ear.

Are you crazy? There isn't a person in the world, tuck or otherwise, who would take Henson over Underwood. Underwood is a head coach, if he were a candidate here that means he's been a successful head coach and not just a jug-headed assistant. I disagree with your Currie/Weber assessment, John Currie will be the athletic director who fires oscar Weber.

doing so would admit he was wrong, that doesn't look good on one's resume and i live under the belief that he is hoping to get out of MHK as soon as he can find what he considers to be a bigger and better job.

ADs fire guys they hire all of the time. Admitting he was wrong may be extremely undesirable for him, you know whats worse, a basketball program producing little to no revenue. He's not going to tolerate the pork & beansesq attendance & revenue of the Wooly era that we're hurdling towards when he's seen the prime rib Frank Martin era, no matter how shitty that prime rib made him feel.

Also there have been multiple good jobs he hasn't been mentioned for the past couple of years. He's a good bet to be here through all phases of the BSFS renovation, imo.

underwood helped stock mokan with good players which helped kstate recruit mokan players.  pnr hated underwood because of the same.  martin threatened to kill an ex mokan player and his family, which in retrospect was probably justified.

I doubt anyone, outside of a school who just got in a ton of troubs from the NCAA, will hire Currie until he's made a good football hire.

that's not true.  but you kind of hit my point.  his only hire is oscar.  he's going to stick by that rough ridin' guy for just long enough until he can get away from him. you think he's going to fire the first and only guy he's ever hired?  oscar won't get him in trouble w/ the ncaa and currie will get credit from snyder's success just because.  mix in the facility work, fundraising, grad rates, and his crap doesn't stink.  do you really think it's  hard to hire a good football coach at a school w/means that's not located in the middle of rough ridin' nowhere?

Now when will old Brucey start locking up that in-state talent? :impatient:

I think there's a snowball's chance in hell that he would leave Wichita State for KSU.  It will take much better job than KSU to get him out of WSU (unless he jumps ship after a few down seasons like Turgeon did).
