McDonnell will join play-by-play announcer Nate Bukaty, color commentator Andy Gruenebaum and analyst Jake Yadrich on the SKCTV broadcast team.

“This is a dream come true,” McDonnell said in a statement released by Sporting KC. “I’ve always thought that if I could get a melting pot and throw sports, news and entertainment into it, I’d have my dream job. Now, I have that and I look forward to working with the SKCTV crew this coming season.”

McDonnell, who was dating Chiefs quarterback Aaron Murray at the time, came to KSHB last September from Philadelphia, where she was a traffic reporter and Philadelphia Eagles sideline reporter.

Sporting KC’s statement said she will also continue her current role with KSHB providing morning traffic updates.
