I feel like everyone should know what "Expansion Draft," "SuperDraft," and "Allocation Ranking" means or you're Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!). After that I can see not knowing. I'd hope people know what the Re-entry draft and Lottery are.

A big thing about our fanbase is 99% of us only care about the players on our roster and that's it. The knowledge about the league is limited. Knowledge about other teams is bad too.

Not pointing fingers at you CNS. Just making an observation.

I really enjoy watching Sporting and made a somewhat recent discovery in my enjoyment of the sport. After a certain point in life, you don't have the time to pick up an entire new league/sport/etc and follow extremely in depth. Especially if you already follow multiple others and have kids/biz/etc.

I mean, it's whatevs, but I simply pick up what I can where/when I can, whether that be in games or looking over a post or two that catches my eye. I would assume I am not the exception. I am letting it come to me slowly rather than due diligence by diving in.

Also, I understand the expansion draft premise, but not necessarily all the repercussions of it's process.

As for the super draft, I assume that is simply like any other league's draft and that it is Super!

As for the Allocation Ranking, I assume it tells you when to draft based on other crap, but am only guessing and don't really care to look it up.

Allocation ranking is a stupid part of the league. If no one holds a player's "rights" and is coming into the league, he'll go to whoever holds the #1 allocation spot. This doesn't always apply but generally it does. It would if Kamara comes back to the league.

You forgot the part that really makes it stupid. At some point (that seems completely arbitrary) the player doesn't go through allocation and simply to whoever pays the most/the league decides to give them to (generally a "large market" team)

mls is weird AF. basically if one of our world cup players (or any former mls player) wants to play in mls, they're in a special "draft class" and the new franchises / suckiest teams get first dibs to sign these bros.

but they always just end up making up the rules when it's someone actually good. two teams recently wanted one of our american heroes so they flipped a coin to see who got him

also, super simplified but it's almost a waste of time trying to keep up on how mls does it all because they always err on the side of making it favorable for truly talented players to come vs subjecting some stud to a lottery where he may end up playing for some garbage team.
