so i'm going to say this in the nicest way possible... most people aren't soccer dorks so it pretty much behooves a soccer organization to put a soccer ball in their logo so that when a normal person sees the logo they aren't like "oh, is that the new arena football team?"  "no, i think it's the womens lingerie softball team that just started" "no, i saw on the news that it's an nba d league or something, or maybe wnba, i dunno".

Benji Joya close to signing with MLS. Would enter through the lottery. Very fun to watch when he played in the U20 World Cup with USA. Would be a great addition to any team.

FWIW, the lottery is how SKC acquired Soony Saad. I think your odds of winning the player correspond to the allocation order which we're currently in last or 18th or something. I could be wrong though.

I'm listening to ExtraTime Radio on mlssoccer.com during my Snow Day. Simon Borg just said he thinks Kansas City is a destination for Joya that makes sense because we're looking for midfielders. Our only "attacking" midfielders are Feilhaber, Peterson Joseph (whose health status is unknown), and Zusi (who plays much more often on the wing). He could be some nice depth with promise for the future.

Like I said though, depending on how many teams show interest in entering the lottery (I've heard only a few), we probably wouldn't have a good chance at "winning" him.

I like it but NO WAY it happens. They are aligned with the Yankees. They aren't going to look like the mets.
