regular super tecmo bowl was just so fun. being the eagles would just infuriate people because you could just run qb eagles all over the place for forty seconds in the backfield and then at the last second fire some stupid pass just before you cross the LOS to a wide open keith jackson standing in the middle of the field or an incredibly keith byers or heath sherman that managed to sneak out of the backfield. then you just lol and they slam a controller and then you lol and do it again.

Has anyone ever successfully landed a plane in Top Gun on NES?

Yes, after a couple of hours of playing I accidentally figured out how to control the throttle on the way down to the carrier.

Spent countless hours playing Mario Kart 64 and Goldeneye (Double RCP-90   )

I also enjoyed the hell out of Excitebike on NES and making crazy custom tracks

Most Frustrating Game: Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time

This was probably my favorite game of all time. Beat it and Majora's Mask like 20 times each.

Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball was awesome, Mariners were unstoppable.

Sonic the Hedgehog was also one of my favorite games.

OMG its blades of steel my favorite game ever. I played the hell out of that game until I discovered NHL '94. NHL '94 had the easiest cheat ever, all wrap arounds resulted in goals, I beasted that game with the Canucks.

I had an atari when I was a kid and I only played atari football and pitfall. Other old school games I loved:
sonic the hedgehog
has no one mentioned punchout yet? The characters were great.
RBI Baseball was great but it was very frustrating when you hit a homerun and the ball would get stuck on the wall and you would have to restart the game
Baseball Stars was awesome
Contra

1. put rbi baseball on "CPU vs CPU"
2. half your group picks one team, the other, well, the other
3. drink "once" per base hit given up (one for single, two for double, etc.).  chug beer for homerun.  make up other rules as complex as you want.
4. ????
5. profit

BoS had pretty good graphics for its time but was always bothered that you couldnt get the puck airborne.

RBI Baseball was great, but I preferred Bases Loaded II when it came out.

Also, the original Road Rash for Sega Genesis was great.  It finally put together the fun of games like Rad Racer, but you could make it past the third level and enjoy a single game for 30+ min.

Other great games not as popular at Tecmo Super Bowl but were still very good included Ninja Gaiden, RC Pro-AM, and Bubble Bobble.  If you have 20 minutes to kill, Blue Marlin is also fun.

Did anybody ever figure out how to win River City Ransom??

I would get to the last block and just jump and stand around.

Was there ever a final ending to that game?

Also, for Sega Genesis NFL Football 94 Starring Joe Montana was a great game.  Later they came out with a college football clone as College Football National Championship with 32 teams.  They then cloned it again for CFNC II where they kicked out 5 teams, replaced them, and added a couple things like stat keeping.  While neither college game had KSU, all three games were lil' hamburglar favorites.

Hahahaha. Yep. NHL 94 was so rough ridin' awesome. Especially when they had all of the goal songs.

Cam Neely from the Bruins & Theon Fleury from the Flames were the best at the wrap around
