If you crashed at mile 11, you likely outran your training.

How long was your training plan? What was your longest run? Weekly average?

Most of us enter our first half marathon woefully under trained and the training we did was at a higher than needed pace or effort.

What's an ideal amount of training mileage for a half?  The plan I'm following will be ~250 miles, over 13 weeks.
Is this your first half? Have your raced many 10k distances? Read my two previous posts. It takes time to get the base and learn your race pace. Your plan has plenty of miles in it.

First half.  I've run a couple of 10k races, but it's been a couple of years.  Did 13 today  -  slow, but I got the miles in.

Who was racing weekend? Any big runs?

I finally made it to a solid hour of running after the health issues. Ready for some big trail runs this spring.

3 hr run this morning. Some miles were better than others.

But the weather was gorgeous and there's lots of good calories and bonkers sleep ahead of me.

I am just waking up from some absolutely batshit insane-o sleep. Yesterday I ran 5 1/2 miles for the first time since....mid-December. :horrorsurprise: I am a huge pud now.

6 miles yesterday. 4 against the gale-force winds here in Manhattan.
Rough, but felt good afterwards.

Ran in the Wichita Brewing Company Marathon Relay yesterday.
First time I've done anything like this. Despite the heavy rain at times it was a great experience.
Next time I foresee a cooler of beer in the chase vehicle  :)

Got a Half-M in early May and my goal is sub 1:45. 9 miles this weekend at 7:50 pace. So far so good.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Good luck. That's a great goal. I'm embarrassed by how little I've run the last four months.

30 minutes today at 6 mph. Heart rate stayed in zone 2 with no breaks. It's been months since I could do that. Feels great to get back to it. Hope the progress continues through the summer.

Reaching that point of the training schedule when I'm getting sick of running. A couple more weeks before the race. http://goEMAW.com/forum/Smileys/goEMAW/bsdm2.gif

Good running weather in Kentucky this morning. Easy four miles through the countryside. Should make for some bonkers sleep especially after our afternoon hike at Natural Bridge.

Three weeks ago I felt that familiar pain at that special place where your calf attaches to your heel. Was seriously concerned I'd have to back out of the marathon coming up in 4 weeks.

Two weeks of significantly reduced and slower miles, mostly on the treadmill. And eccentric calf raises several times a day. Did 12 miles with no pain last week, then 18 this morning.

No pain and negative splits. Bonkers sleep tonight after I find a way to consume 5,000 calories.

That's some speedy work. Looks like you'll be sub 4 no problem.
