After you do your first half you will most definitely want to do your first full. It's weird. But it's very, very braggable, so there's that.

And then right after your first full you will swear you're good and will never do another one. And then a month will pass and you'll be all, "holy crap I was slow, can't wait to try to beat it."

It's a terrible cycle. :feelsbadman: But it's very braggable, so there's that.

Great write up, SB. Welcome to the super elite 1% club.

I can totally relate to the downs and ups of running. "Eff this marathon I'm never doing another. Oh wait. I can do better. Let's marathon." I'm a pretty decent half'er but terribly slow full'er. If I ever get over this back injury, I'll head build up for another one. It's a disease but I know that I can break the four hour barrier. Gotta do it. Ultimately, I want a crack at 50 miles but health first. Don't want to be a cripple from running injured.

4 hours is an unreachable foolish goal for SB.

Do marathon runners ever contemplate the irony that they're engaging in a race, the distance of which killed the person involved in the original event?  Serious responses only, please.

If not from massive blood loss through the N's, then how did he die then?

Great read, SB.  Can't wait till the weather thaws out up here.  Time for Dlew to get his feet on the street and shed off some of this winter weight.

Getting new shoes this week!

Oh man. I saw a guy at the thon who obviously decided not to lube up and by mile 19 his nips were sooo bloody you guys. Felt bad for him because he had two blood trails running all the way down his CU Buffs tank top, which looked painful. But mainly I felt bad for him because he was a good-looking CU elite who was momentarily less good-looking.

Big 12 5k tomorrow AM!!!!

I am ready (not really) but still going to give it my best. I ran 1.5 miles yesterday and finished while cursing the entire idea of running in general, but 5 mins later I couldn't wait to do it again.

I got these recently and they are great to run in. If you see a guy wearing them in the way back of the group it is probably mocat.
