I think they just want Waters to be the guy.  I think they like the long bombs (obviously) but I think it is what they see out of Waters presnap that keeps him playing in situations he shouldn't (ie inside our own 20).

I completely overestimated our coaching staff. Instead they're operating by their "gut" like complete idiots.

That's part of it, but I agree with your premise that they have become infatuated with the possibility of big pass plays while for whatever reason disregarding TOP and 8+ play drives. I do think that is odd.

Did you hear Bill's interview with Wyatt? Jake said he "felt good" throwing deep balls so let's give him all the snaps. I mean jesus christ.

waters' is terrible at throwing the deep ball, too. he's bailed out by either our WR or the other teams' DB on most of them.

Meh, I think there are plenty of other justifiable numbers (which sd uses well) that show Waters' weaknesses other than this ridiculous talking point. JMHO.

More concerning that a guy 3 years deep in the program can't beat out a 1st year juco.

HE CAN AND DID BEAT HIM OUT BUT OUR COACHES ARE BUMBLING DUMBFUCKS THAT CAN'T SEE THAT

This exchange is such a good summary of this season.

Has Sams ever had a 3 and out?  Serious question.

Bill usually won't let him run the 3rd down play for some dumbass reason.

All 2 plays, no, but he has been a part of several.

I haven't run the numbers since my original QB comparison post, but I will after the KU game.

Well yeah.  2 QB draws for 6 yards and then waters sails one on 3rd and 4.

The crazy thing is Waters will probably be HM All Big 12. Petty and Chelf are clearly better, but after that its guys like Bell/McCoy/Webb/Boykin.

He has pretty much the 3rd best numbers in the league and he'll probably get around 250 yards and 2/3 more TDs vs KU.

Lockett will definitely be 1st team All Big 12. Unfortunately, Petty will probably still get offensive POY.

Valid enough point, but he won't get the votes because of his usage/snaps. Another thing you can be pissed at Snyder about.

Bell and McCoy are both better than Waters. Knight is, too.

Snyder's rough ridin' clueless, Waters is not good and is rough ridin' AWFUL against the wind, 0tds 5 picks.  Ran the ball 3 times with Sams, I rough ridin' give up.

I find it hilarious that Waters gets credit for his deep ball when Lockett is getting 10 yards open. The narrative that he is some deep ball master is  he still over and under throws deep balls which is fine but using his deep ball mastery for justification for extended snaps is total bull.

This is a weird year for QBs because so many teams have played multiple QBs. I narrowed some of these down by guys that have played in at least 6 games and not just in mop up duty.
