Real life fighting you thread
« on: November 12, 2013, 02:14:14 PM »
So in another thread KITNfury, awful poster, called newly minted weirdo sunny_cat a pussy. Of course there was the well discussed thread when ednksu called Jake Pullen a pussy, wow didn't realize the tie between the two examples until I just typed that. This brings many questions in my mind that I've long waned to ask this demographic.

1. Have you gotten into a fist fight as an adult?
2. When was the last fight you saw in person?
3. Do you say terrible things to other people and don't expect any possible physical retribution?
4. If someone kicked your ass one-on-one would you call the cops on them?
5. Would you fight someone simply because of what they said about you or a loved one on the internet? If so has his ever happened on goEMAW.com?

To me if you call someone a bitch or a pussy you should be prepared for that person to prove you right or wrong. I hate that the internet has given people license to say things to others they would never say in person. Even worse is when these people are confronted they hide behind calling other an "internet tough guy."

Feel free to answer any or all of my survey questions, thanks!

I'm almost 40 and not from West Virginia.  Were I to find myself in a physical altercation it would not be a "fight". It would be in self defense or in defense of a loved one and it would be to the death.  Anything less critical can and should be avoided.

We're not talking about loking for fights. Are you saying being in immediate physical danger is the only circumstance in which you'd throw?

1. Have you gotten into a fist fight as an adult? Nope. Just wrestled someone down and put my knees on their back until they left.
2. When was the last fight you saw in person? Martini Corner. Saw a guy get jumped by three dudes. They stomped his face on the curb. Blood was everywhere.
3. Do you say terrible things to other people and don't expect any possible physical retribution? I only say mean things when confronted.
4. If someone kicked your ass one-on-one would you call the cops on them? Nope.
5. Would you fight someone simply because of what they said about you or a loved one on the internet? If so has his ever happened on goEMAW.com? Maybe. It takes a lot for me to fight. Some ppl blatantly say stuff on here for the sole purpose to hurt. I know it's the internet, but it's kinda mumped up.

1. Have you gotten into a fist fight as an adult? No, but I haven't been an adult for too long.  Also, I'm a pretty easy going guy anyways.

2. When was the last fight you saw in person? Last weekend at the bars.

3. Do you say terrible things to other people and don't expect any possible physical retribution? Define "terrible."  My friends and I razz each other a lot.  For example, if one of my friends says "I don't think I'm going to the bars tonight, I'm pretty tired," and I respond "OK, pussy.  Have fun at home," I'd be surprised if he punched me in my face.

4. If someone kicked your ass one-on-one would you call the cops on them? Depends on the circumstances.

5. Would you fight someone simply because of what they said about you or a loved one on the internet? If so has his ever happened on goEMAW.com? Again, depends on what they said. I doubt I would ever come to blows with someone about what they said on the internet (unless it was something real bad).  I can't think of anything that would be said on the internet that would lead me to come to blows with someone.

1. Yes
2. Within the last few weeks
3. I don't generally say terrible things to other people, but if I did, retribution would not come as a surprise.
4. I ain't no snitch
5. I guess I could see it because of a situation on a public forum like Facebook but I really doubt it.

1. No. I did push over a drunk guy who swung on me in aggieville for basically no reason, doesn't count as a fist fight.
2. Two fake patties days ago. two guys brawled over line cutting to get into omalleys. lol.
3. I don't really ever say terrible things to people. not my thing.
4. Depends on the situation. If I felt like I could be asking for it and it was about proving a point, or whether or not I was a bitch or a pussy, no. If someone attacked me and i was just minding my own business, yes.
5. No, not if it was to me or about me and just affecting me. Yes, if it was non anonimously and directly affecting an innocent loved one. It hasn't happened to me.

1. Have you gotten into a fist fight as an adult?

No, and don't plan on it. One love.

2. When was the last fight you saw in person?

Dude got jumped in front of Mistys (old bar that was next to Little Apple Brewery) and was being kicked and stomped while knocked out on the ground. Very scary.

3. Do you say terrible things to other people and don't expect any possible physical retribution?

Never in person, I'm really nice to people.

4. If someone kicked your ass one-on-one would you call the cops on them?

No but I'd retaliate in a very harsh way.

5. Would you fight someone simply because of what they said about you or a loved one on the internet? If so has his ever happened on goEMAW.com?

No, to my face though and we'll have a problem.

Thanks for the survey, MIR!

People getting jumped is the absolute worst, I really don't understand that and I'd be afraid of killing someone if I were a part of a group beating on one person.

Also your friend calling you a pussy is far different from a stranger calling you one.

Yup! They took his wallet and ran off afterwards. The worst is when they're already knocked out and they continue to lay into him. It's a weird feeling.

In college I was in Last Chance, I know I know, and this guy who was like 5'6" ashed his cigarette on the top of my head. I was absolutely going to blast him in the face but then I thought about him being 5'6" and the effort it took him to reach the top of my head so I just picked him up and tossed him a bit. Punking him in that manner felt much better than breaking his nose would have felt.

I'm okay with people fighting someone else to let them know they crossed a line, consider it a life lesson. Jumping someone isn't that at all, and every time I've seen someone getting jumped there are always guys/girls adding shots after the other person is out. These people are likely the biggest pussies ever.

I really wanted to fight that dude in Ames that knocked my hat to the ground. Thankfully I had my gE bros to back me up.

ERIIdad used to raise hell at MHS and would get in fights all the time. I'm pretty much the complete opposite of him in that aspect which I'm very glad for. One of my math teachers in high school was about to crack my dad over the head with a baseball bat during a fight once until one of dad's friends came from behind and stopped him. That first day of role call was interesting to say the least.

That's correct.  I see no need for violence unless violence is being done or about to be done to me. If someone is verbally threatening and I feel that there are no other options I would make a move but other than that I'd like to avoid accidentally killing someone.

1. Have you gotten into a fist fight as an adult? No. As an adult, it is pretty silly to do so unless you are defending yourself or others. Ppl that do so out of any other reason have problems that need to be figured out and they need to learn what it is to be a responsible adult
2. When was the last fight you saw in person? Don't even remember.  Probably college(late '90's/early 2000's)
3. Do you say terrible things to other people and don't expect any possible physical retribution? No. I do mess with ppl a lot, but I try to not get to a point where I am being mean.
4. If someone kicked your ass one-on-one would you call the cops on them?  Depends on the circumstances.  Did I deserve it?  etc
5. Would you fight someone simply because of what they said about you or a loved one on the internet? If so has his ever happened on goEMAW.com? Probably, but it would have to be something extraordinary and personal.

If college counts, then yes.  It was a really bad idea and I got in a lot of trouble afterward.  A friend and I got into it with some guys walking home from the bars.  I knocked one of them out.  Not with a punch, I threw him into a van and he hit his head on the bumper.  He was snoring immediately.  The fight ended then.  Everyone was pretty freaked out on account of how unnatural it sounded.  Went back to our dorm and cops were there because some kid was passed out drunk in the middle of the hallway.  The cops stopped us on our way to our room.  One of the cops said as I walked by "Why don't you tell me about that guy you just knocked out?"  I was really drunk and couldn't figure out how the eff he knew that so soon or that we were involved.  In hindsight, I had on a white baseball cap and an orange polo.  I was pretty muscle-bound at the time.  My friend was wearing a maroon shirt and he is black and had cornrow braids at the time.  The two of us together was a pretty easy apb descripto.  Anyway, I got arrested and they charged me with felony aggravated battery.  I had to do two weeks in county jail and 300 public service hours and two years of probation to get it dropped down to a misdemeanor conviction.  I also had to pay several thousand dollars to the other guy's insurance because he had to get a CAT scan or MRI or something plus stitches and of course the ambulance ride.  County jail was a very interesting experience (many stories and really not bad at all except for the food), but the whole situation took almost a year to resolve and it was very stressful with the felony hanging over my head.  I would have gladly let them talk all sorts of crap on me and just walked away had I known what I was in store for.  Being a badass is for dunces.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

I guess I should answer these....

1. Have you gotten into a fist fight as an adult? Not exactly... Bounced and worked in the bar biz until I was 23. Never counted those as "fights".

2. When was the last fight you saw in person? Can't remember... probably a bar here in KC within the last year.

3. Do you say terrible things to other people and don't expect any possible physical retribution? No I don't.

4. If someone kicked your ass one-on-one would you call the cops on them?  No

5. Would you fight someone simply because of what they said about you or a loved one on the internet? If so has his ever happened on goEMAW.com? NO

To me if you call someone a bitch or a pussy you should be prepared for that person to prove you right or wrong. I hate that the internet has given people license to say things to others they would never say in person. Even worse is when these people are confronted they hide behind calling other an "internet tough guy." -  If someone called me a bitch or a pussy to my face I wouldn't "fight" them. I don't get worked up about the opinion of others.  Words... they're just words.
