so, let's say that you are at subway, and you make it a meal (chips and a drink), and the total comes out to $8.75, and you pay with two $5 bills. except, when you are handing over the $5 bills to the cashier, one of them falls out of your hand and into the tip jar, which is a square box like thingy that already has a few $1 bills in it.

now assume that the tip jar is kind of small. like, to retrieve it (if you wanted to), you might have to angle the jar to the side, or even tip it upside down.

what do you do? do you retrieve your accidental tip from the jar? do you ask the cashier to do it for you? do you leave it?

also, assume that you have no other money in your wallet. only a credit card.

If the total was 8.75, and you dropped a 5 in the tip jar, that means you only gave the cashier a 5. Tell them you don't have other money and you need that 5 back. Plus it's subway, they shouldn't have a tip jar in the first place.
