filling in for steve dave again...
-Besides 2003, what's standout OU/KSU game? Stan: has to be last year. Showed CFB that Snyder was definitely back.
-Others: Going to OU and winning with Chad May. Beating them five in a row in 90's.
-Nate: Also, Stanton appeared as ST players last year, right? Yes.....due to injury, he was in on every kickoff and most punt team. Has been on ST units every since. Was very proud moment for me. I wasn't expected him to play last year at OU, so I suddenly became very nervous. Thanks LHC Bill Snyder for making my 6.0', 175 pound son a Big 12 caliber player....don't know how he does it.
-Discussion turns to walk on's.....how does he do it? Bill looks for something a little different with players. Bill wants superior athletes, but more so, looks at what's on inside. Bill knows how much physical change will occur from 18-22. If you find a kid with tons of energy and heart, he can develop the player. Bill believes you can be great, whoever you are....and he preaches it to you and treats the walk-on from little river, ks the same as a 5*. Bill gives every kid equal chance. Has the least amount of "hazing" as any locker room you'll ever see. He demands the "studs" treat the walk-ons equally as well.
-Turns to OU and suspensions. How does losing Williams change things: Does change things because he's so explosive and fast. The QB they'll play tomorrow has the same qualities, though. They can make huge plays...not through air, but on ground. You have to remember, Williams was not their starter. Also, Stan thinks KSU would of been better off with Bell starting.
-A lot of it is which OU team shows up. Stan thinks KSU will be what they are....consistent. If the explosive OU team shows up, it'll be tough. If the sleepwalking OU team shows up, K-State will be fine.
-OU runs the fast pace offense, this is where they'll miss Zimmerman the most. Coaches don't have time to make the adjustments. Will miss Ty's leadership a lot in this regard. Second thing they'll miss is Ty's physicality. Backup played well last week, just not as physical.
-Prediction: KSU will win 30-27.
