Go out to the speed limit sign with black spray paint and paint a 4 over the 2 so the sign says the speed limit is 40. Take a camera and set the date and time to right after you received the ticket, and then take a photo of the speed limit sign with a time stamp on the photo. Take it to court and say that you couldn't possibly have known you were speeding because some bad person vandalized the speed limit signs.

Just don't get caught. You will wish you had paid the money if you do.

-Request video of the traffic stop
-Request calibration records for the radar gun if used
-change your court date to a different day of the week (preferably earlier)
-if all else fails try to play dumb to the prosecutor but obviously don't admit you did it

I had a Leawood cop pull me over for a school zone violation on December 27th. Luckily his superior officer saved me the time of explaining that in court and made the officer tear up my ticket a few days later.

Couple things:

One time my wife got a ticket and explained to me it wasn't possible she was going that fast because of the distance from her last spot.  We went out there and it was like a half-mile.  I just  .

Do you have a GPS in your car?  Was it on?  You can pull the track history and verify your actual speed.
