http://www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2013/12/auburn_could_play_kansas_state.htmlAUBURN, Alabama -- The marquee non-conference game on Auburn's schedule next season could still change a little.
Auburn will make its return trip to Kansas State next September, the return trip in a home-and-home dating back to 2007.
But the day -- it's currently scheduled for Sept. 20, 2014 -- could still shift. In a lunch interview with beat writers Thursday, Auburn athletics director Jay Jacobs said that the school has been approached by television networks about the possibility of playing the game on a Thursday night, which would be the 18th.
"We’ve been asked about it," Jacobs said. "Nothing has been finalized yet. I haven’t spoken to Kansas State about it, either. I’m OK with it."
Auburn has an open date scheduled for the week before, allowing the Tigers to stick to a semi-normal week of preparation.
The network that will broadcast the game is unclear, although Jacobs said the ultimate decision will rest with the home team.
"Kansas State will control that; not Auburn," Jacobs said."We’re the visiting team, so other than the fact we’d say ‘we’re not coming,’ it’s Kansas State’s decision. We’re going to go, by the way."
