SEC has set their schedule for 2014. Auburn has an open date the week before K-State and then they play Louisiana Tech after K-State. Currently K-State's schedule has two open weeks before the Auburn game unless they stick a conference game in there but if they don't then K-State will have their two open dates right off the bat but then will play nine conference games without a break, unless K-State gets one of the prime December 6 spots.

Hopefully they get to keep the two open dates before Auburn and get a December 6th game, so that an open spot can be picked up in the middle of the season, like before the OU game.

I would love for us to have Fall practice, then a warm-up game against Stephen F Austin, then work on all our mistakes and issues for two weeks before Auburn.

I think we Oregon the crap out of Auburn. We know that Bill will want out of Auburn, AND he'll hate burning two bye weeks back to back.

I bet we "ask" Auburn to move the game date, knowing full well Auburn will say no. Then back out of the game.

I would think we play the game since we won't have a return game to Auburn. Plus Auburn is awful. There is a pretty good chance that Auburn buys out of it, though.

It will be mutual. Auburn needs to get back to bowl games.

I would hope our coach and AD realize this and collect a nice payment from Auburn for backing out. There really is no reason to back out of an easy win against an SEC school, otherwise.

It's quite possible they will suck and that we will be awesome. If they want to pony up the money to get out of the game, then the rich get richer. If not, I hope we pound the crap out of them. No way that we should be the ones to try and get out of this game.

Agreed. We'll slip some directional nobody in there much like our opener this year only it'll be a big school like North Texas or South Alabama, etc.

I know Bill hates playing BCS non-cons, but I hope even he would see the benefit to keeping this game. Either we beat up one of the worst SEC teams while the media goes "omg they beat a SEC team", or we get bought out by them. Win-win

bill has always seen the benefit in beating bad "name" teams. see cal, iowa, usc, miami, etc. he bought out of oregon because he knew we'd lose, didn't buy out of miami because he thought he could win. we'll play auburn.
