hey, do you guys remember back when baseball and basketball were the top sports in america, and ksu was super awesome in those, and then sometime in the early 90's we were like "hey, i think we'll try our hand at this football thing" and then like a few years later ksu was super awesome at that and the success of america's team turned football into a bigger sport than baseball and basketball combined and now it makes like kagillions of dollars a year?

man, ksu is the high tide raising all the other bcs boats.  not real sure why ku's boat seems to have a hole in it tho.

TRIVIA:  if KU loses out they will hold the longest conference losing streak in Big 12 history with 30 straight conference losses

DOUBLE SCOOP TRIVIA:  the record currently belongs to Baylor who lost 29 in a row from 1998 to 2002.

THREE X the TRIVIA: Over that time period, Baylor's most previous conference win was against guess who kansas and Baylor ended their conference losing streak against that's right kansas.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1068750/1/index.htm

Of course, it is exasperating to Wefald and others that losing football has made K-State famous. Wefald points out that in the last 15 years the school has had five Rhodes scholars, which puts Kansas State in the top 1% of all universities in the U.S. in that regard; and since 1979 it has had 14 Truman scholars, more than any other state university, and trailing only Harvard, Stanford and Yale. Last year, the College Football Association found that Kansas State was one of only 13 major Division I-A schools with a graduation rate of more than 70% for its football players; the average was 49.8%. And the school's debate team ranks third in the country. But then you knew that. Says Wefald, "We're on a roll. We're doing fine in everything—except football."

Which prompts one question: Why bother? Why send fine young men onto the field every Saturday in autumn to be humiliated? The answer is simple: "I don't think the Big Eight would want us if we didn't play football," says AD Miller, and though KSU could appeal its banishment, it is generally agreed that if Kansas State were to drop football, the Big Eight would just as quickly drop K-State.[/b] That would be a shame for both the school and the league: The K-State men's basketball team has won the conference championship 10 times, more than any other school, and ranks sixth nationally in the number of NCAA tournament appearances; the women's basketball program has had one losing season in 21 years, and its six league titles are tops in the Big Eight.  In other words, the football team is sacrificed for those who cannot imagine Big Eight basketball without the Wildcats. Snyder, predicting the future, says. "We will be as good as we can be, and we will not be 0-11." Stay tuned.
[/quote]
That's to bad that we were a lot like KU.  A rough ridin' good ole Kansas type BB school who could give a eff about FB.  Thank God for Snyder.  :kstategrad:

Can always count on our guy Dlew12 to drop some of the best trivia bombs around. Imagine if the Hawks wouldn't have had that crazy comeback on the Buffs back in 2010.  :surprised:

Also, DID YOU KNOW:  Last time KU football won a conference game, the President of the United States was Barack Obama but it was his first term which was a very long time ago.

Imagine if Iowa State hadn't overthrown that receiver in 2009. Yikes.

The records Ku is breaking really put into perspective how horrific they are.  They aren't even approaching bad.  That's hard to imagine.

Why on earth would anyone use that SI article as a way to talk bad about EMAW in 2013?

Because one of your delusional, butthurt fans proclaimed that KU football is worse now than Futility U.

Come on man pull your head out and look around.  You are that that bad.  You have won two conference games in the last five seasons.

Stan Parrish was the head coach of ksu during the "futility U" period.  His career record vs KU was 1-1-1.  In his three years his conference record was 1-19-1 which happens to be the same conference record ku had over that same stretch.  Both records were still better then what ku has done over the past three years.  You were pretty much just as bad then and you still are.
