KU played in the Sporting KC stadium. Great crowd for that venue and all reports are that it felt packed and excited.  I bet they end up wishing their arrowhead games were instead back at sporting KC.

If the cats were in that situation, I’d rather they play to a frothing hard-to-get-ticket sporting KC crowd than a lack luster arrowhead crowd.

This thread was sent to me earlier today.

The story says the guy was from Nebraska, but the Rock Chalk's go on to assume he is a K-Tater? And they let the little bro pains ooze onto their keyboards.

You can tell their piss is hott this football season! Hope the team plays good enough to bring them the happiness their lives are completely void of.

https://247sports.com/college/kansas/board/103723/contents/kstate-karl-had-a-little-too-much-grape-koolaid-saturday-235538333/?page=1

Maybe it's the K-State gear in the car and the fact that he admitted to getting drunk at the K-State game, but I'm no Sherlock Holmes.

The hats are blue and just distorted by the camera shot. You can really tell the color distortion by the Jimmy John's lettuce on the console, which is never that green.

the tickets to last thursday’s ku game were not hard to get unless you didn’t have $25 and the stubhub app.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

If the guy lived in Kansas then I think you always have to take the default assumption they’re a Cats football fan. Living in Nebraska I’d say it’s 50/50 Cats fan or Nebraska fan desperate to see good football.

They're gonna move into their cavernous 41,000 seat new stadium and wish Goff didn't insist on it being that big despite the analysts suggestions that they go no bigger than 37,000.

The pictures I've seen of the crowd would indicate it definitely wasn't full

I'm not trying to speak for Pete (how could I, the guy's a genius) but I think the just meant he'd HYPOTHETICALLY prefer a situation where tickets were hard to get for a HYPOTHETICAL K-State game in which we were playing at HYPOTHETICALLY Sporting KC's stadium vs Arrowhead Stadium.

Precisely! That sporting stadium is very nice and has good acoustics despite its small size. Jayhawk fans are going to miss it when they get to arrowhead, IMO. If they have the good fortune to put together 4 wins in a row, they still won’t be able to fill arrowhead, but they could fill Sporting and it would be a hot ticket for TCU in a small stadium instead of Taco John’s tickets for Arrowhead.

My heart hurts for the Sporting MO-Kan Rayhawks . . .  this is remindful of when K-State flubbed up funding of the initial baseball stadium renovation in the early 2000's and the baseball team had to play on the road the whole season.

It's particularly disheartening knowing that the Dax plan for KUMS would have not only kept our Hawks playing in Lawrence, but would have preserved the core integrity of an historic landmark and memorial to our fallen soldiers.  :frown:

Agree 100% - They will make more money at arrowhead but starting with some scarcity and a better atmosphere is necessary for their program.  It would help them sell tickets for their new stadium next year when they won't have the benefit of Daniels helping them, barring a medical redshirt.

lol at that dumbass headline. How in the hell is it a surprise that the stadium with the largest capacity had the highest attendance? Also make note of Iowa State when they inevitably lie about selling out every game and old K-State fans fawn about how they support the team. The weather in Ames was perfect and most of their fanbase thinks they are going to the big 12 championship game and they were 4,000 short of a sellout and a couple of thousand more seats than that were unused.

Doesn't seem 56,148 would be around 5,500 short of the 61,500-seat capacity of the stadium.  So, what are you trying to say?

  Omg, so hilarious.  UNLV scored 72 points tonight and they play them next?  :lol:Lance should have bolted when he had the chance.
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Daniels does not look the same since prior to his injury last year...

No 2022 Daniels=no winning season for KU.
