Sounds like KU’s plan for bussing students to games this year will only have enough room for roughly 1000 students.  Certainly there will be many who drive or hitchhike to the games, but no matter what there will very likely be fewer students at KU games than there will be at any other conference games.

Hard to say.  I do recall seeing quite a few “win or lose we still booze” shirts at the games. Maybe by booze they mean no more than 2 drinks?

Totally not gE but this plays into the whole fallacy of the talking point so many t-shirt fans make about being close to KC as a recruiting advantage. Damn near every single one of the friends who went to ku went to KC maybe a half dozen times their entire tenure. Unless you are actually from the KC area (which being from Wichita they weren't) you got no business going. Where are you staying? How expensive is it for a poor college student to booze it up there vs being on Mass Street? Larrytown is great for the alumni/fans from KC, not the actual people who are at or going to ku. There will def be students going obv but I would wager all are going to be from KC or have a friend from KC to stay with. Very few will go if they don't have that option or aren't provided some means of getting there and back. Hell plenty of students don't own cars. If i was a blue wings rising student this year I would be pretty upset having to figure all that out. Do I just stay in lawrence and booze with my friends? Or get in a car drive 45 minutes and then if we win just hanging out at arrowhead not near anything and having to get to back to larrytown to party with the bros.

The sad truth is I really think they would have covered that 20% shortfall by now if KU could have sealed the deal vs KSU in Lawrence.
