One component that was hinted at was a center video board for AFH. The rep for the vendor is a KU alum and he's been working on this one for a long time. Both the video system at AFH and their baseball stadium are at the end of their life span. Somebody within their donor ranks drove a tear down/rebuild/MLSification of KUMS, and I'm sure that person has the initials of CI.The Dax plan would have put this thing to bed years ago at $225 million, tops. Our KU football brethren could have been enjoying new concessions, restrooms and other amenities for years now, instead of enduring piss rivers and porta potties.Cliff’s Leawood home recently experienced a rather large fire that did significant damage. No one was hurt, fortunately, but I would guess his priorities as it relates to construction related matters are focused on his family’s home.

However the MLSification of historic KUMS was decided many months ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looking at that picture, lt seems so strange they didn't just tear the whole thing down and start fresh.

Question: Does anyone know if/how they're going to physically connect the east side to the new west/north side? Based on what I have heard/read they can't complete the south portion because that will connect/stretch into the visitors locker room that's underneath the east side. It also makes sense because you can clearly see how the east side goes past the back of the endzone and in no way lines up with what will be the new angles/perimeter/outline of the new south section. This makes me wonder how it's going to work for the north and east sections as well. Nothing is really going to flow together there with the existing angle and how they demo'ed. So, will the east side just be standing on it's own, physically disconnected from the new part of the stadium? Back when they still supposedly had funding and a plan for phase 2 it really wasn't a question that mattered. But now, if they don't have a timeline for when the east side will be completed, this is going to look incredibly odd. Hopefully this aerial view that was posted shows what I'm getting at here.
No matter how lacking in modern facilities and laughable for the needs of a P5 football stadium, Memorial did have a classic feel about it. Now they'll have this MSL Fankenstein.
Jesus. Look at that setting. The trees!
