Nate Bukaty had an absolute meltdown on air this morning. Producers had to cut the segment off twice, the first time because he was crying and the second time because he questioned Les Miles’ mental capacity.

I waved a piece of paper at him like two Catholic Charities Balls ago after the whole Sneed thing and I've never seen that type of death stare in my entire life. He's a passionate squawk, for sure!

Who the eff takes the job?  It's the worst FBS job in a normal cycle but now is just atrocious.  As of now, Long is making the hire although he is on the hot seat so you likely won't have the backing of the AD for long.  You're doing it at an odd time that puts you behind in recruiting and building a staff.  If/when they fire you, they will attack you to avoid paying you what you're contractually owed.  They can't even try the FCS route terribly well with the spring season (not that I think this would be a likely route).  Bert's now at Illinois so you can't even go after that.

I think their only real opportunity is to try a Beaty thing again and hire some young inexperienced coach/recruiter and hope it works but expect that at least saves you money.

What young inexperienced recruiter takes that job knowing it will be your last P5 job and the university will make every attempt screw you when you can't win at the worst program in the history of CFB?

O man would love that

This is what many wanted two KU coaches ago. It would be the best move possible for both parties, and even the Big XII... which is why it probably won't happen.

Well if you're going to describe the KU football program, of course it sounds like nobody should take the job.

The Athletic favors Buffalo's Lance Leipold.  My only hope is that they don't go triple option because I think that is the only way they could be successful.

Why would he want his only P5 job ever to be at KU?

I agree, even if they continue to suck it would at least be fun to watch.

Imagine the meltdown's some cat fans would have when our LB's make the wrong read "JUST COVER THE A GAP! HOW HARD IS THAT! I DID IT FOR 2 YEARS WHEN I WAS STARTING AT SCOTT CITY!"

There will always be hungry up and comers willing to take a shot at a P5 job like KU.  Someone like Bull Snyder could also be lurking out there that sees an opportunity to have the run of the entire place if they even have modest success.

How often has there been a absolute career killer job like KU coupled with an AD that will 1000% TRY AND SCREW YOU WHEN YOU FAIL, which is inevitable?

Basketball will always be their priority. It will be Last Chance U for football coaches.

Maybe this happened prior to the allegations, but Mile to Go is no longer on ESPN+

It's like a dead link on the Big12 page and searching nets zero results.
