Think they'll dump Les for Harbaugh?

Would be their 5th home run hire in 10 years.

Damn... yesterday's game was ugly. It would be super LOL if they fired Les after Michigan dumps Harbaugh. However, they don't have the money to do that, and the results wouldn't change anyways.

I listened to the last couple of minutes of their game on the radio yesterday and the Hawks radio crew was really thirsty for KU to score a touchdown at the end so they could break the mythical double digit point barrier.  Obviously they got that TD but since they scored with no time left the game ended without them getting to kick the XP.  One of the announcers said something like they had been robbed of the chance to score 10 points.  It was equal parts  and  :frown:

What Miles has to go against is nothing like any turn around / rebuild in history. all big 12 schools he plays are in good shape in football. 9 conference games , only three non con games and has to schedule a P5 team in non con game.

If Les goes to a bowl in 2022 in could be the greatest turn around in history.
I'll be pretty sad if they take the greatest turnaround trophy from us.

They will probably take that opportunity lightly.

D Scott had a great stat on twitter the other day that was something like "Kstate has won more big12 football games this year than KU has won in the last 2165 days(or something like that)"

That article seems to be hinting at what I've been hearing for a while: The Hatter very likely will hang'em up at the end of this year or at the end of next year assuming 3 or fewer wins next year (and that's an extremely safe assumption).

However, if The Baugh becomes available at the end of this year, Jeff Shortdyk needs to be calling Sarah's family here in the KC area as well as his agent and doing everything humanly possible to entice him to bring Sarah home to be near her family by offering a king's ransom to get the Baugh to jump start KU's program. You do it surreptitiously so that no one will know that we're trying to fill Less' position while he still occupies it (although Less may wave the white flag at the end of this year). If the Baugh bites on our offer, you shuffle Less off to retirement and thank him for his efforts in rebuilding the roster.

If your plan to hire a head football coach starts with calling his in-laws, you're going to need a new plan.

Oklahoma State with Mike Gundy imo is exactly the program we should be, not always a favorite to win the conference but usually picked in the top 3/4 most years and in bowl game every year with an occasional threat to win the league, and beats kstate most years, this is exactly where KU football should be.

Oklahoma State and Wisconsin are programs that non-blue bloods love to reference when talking about what's achievable.  Is there an example of this in every conference?  I assume Utah or Washington would be the examples in the PAC.  I'm not sure who the examples would be in the ACC and SEC.  Georgia feels like it's come too close to a title but they might be the most consistent in the SEC outside of Bama.

Yeah if history has taught us anything it’s that KU football “should” be a perennial top 15-20 program. Lol wtf

At this point I hope they get The Baugh, it'll continue the cycle of getting flameouts from bigger programs a la Weis (though the Baugh is decidedly a better coach than Weis)

Any decent coach would let that coaching carousel do a full spin at least once before accepting KU.

Sometimes people confuse what they desperately and unrealistically want with what should be.  Like when I thought I should be able to dunk in my teens and 20's.

Oh, sure, they should call the in-baughs. Then they should call Carl if things don't work out.

The reason they will never be as successful as OSU has been over the last 10 years can be summed up in 1 question.

Would KU fans trade their Athletic Program's (bball/fball) results over the past 10 years for OSU's results over the last 10 years?

Texas-Kansas game postponed
ByTAYLOR ESTES 19 minutes ago
Saturday's game against between No. 22 ranked Texas and Kansas has been postponed. The Longhorns and Jayhawks were set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2, but those plans have changed due to the Big 12's COVID-19 position threshold requirements.

"In accordance with Big 12 Conference football game interruption guidelines, the Texas at Kansas game scheduled for November 21 has been postponed," the Big 12 Conference announced Wednesday afternoon. "The game will be rescheduled on December 12. The time and television designation will be announced when available."

The reason for the change of schedule is due to Kansas football not meeting the Big 12's minimum threshold for position units as outlined in the league's COVID-19 protocols, according to Kansas Athletics.

"The Kansas football game vs. Texas on Saturday, Nov. 21 will be postponed to Dec. 12 due to KU’s inability to meet the minimum position requirements established by the Big 12 Conference," Kansas officials said in a press release announcing the postponement Wednesday afternoon. "The position group affected has a combination of injuries and contact tracing. Since Nov. 8, the KU football program has performed 825 COVID-19 tests with five returning positive on different testing days during that time span."

Without Saturday's road game on the schedule, the Longhorns' next game is scheduled to kickoff on Black Friday in a home contest against No. 17 ranked Iowa State. As it currently stands, Texas will then make back-to-back road trips to the state of Kansas, with the Dec. 5 road game at Kansas State and the now rescheduled Dec. 12 road game against the Jayhawks to close out the 2020 regular season.

The Longhorns will now have an additional week to prepare for the final three-game stretch of the regular season after Texas being off last week during the final open date on the schedule.
