The KSU friends didn't have the heart to tell him the issue is the dog won't hunt, but that it is dead.

This just begs the question: Could the setting be even better if they were to bulldoze the football stadium and replace it with some kind of discrete but tasteful money-laundering facility for the basketball program?

they should legitimately, not gE'ing, hire Sean Snyder. He very likely wouldn't even entertain an offer from them but if they could pony up enough, and promise enough, and guarantee him the time it would take to fix the program (6+ years) it would be the absolutely best option for their program.
