In looking at their alumni geographic distribution I cannot decide if they should be dubbed the clipped wing alumni or the apron stringers.

I mean is there any other major university that has 42% of its alumni base within 45 minutes of its main campus?

i'm not going to go out and research nexus lexus for the answer here but can anyone confirm whether or not KU football is still hurting?  no rational person would believe that ku football still hurts over 3 years since the inception of this thread.  it's pretty much impossible is what i am saying (again, i haven't scrubbed the numbers but it just seems very unlikely).

so to the OP, i say, 'ku football, not hurting anymore' !

IIRC I do believe JoCo Gateway project is considered 'complete'. No more impedance to hit K10 at full speed bound for God's city.

Shockers don't seem to go far from Wichita but then I don't know if they fit the description of a major university

I was thinking the same thing.   There are probably quite a few that are that way, but it doesn't make it any less funny in light of the constant meme about how K-State people all live in Kansas while KU people span the globe in massive numbers.   50% of living K-State alumni, don't live in Kansas.

Feels good to be part of the 50% who have gone out to conquer the world and are now living in exotic non-Kansas locales.

You guys see their thread about attendance at Memorial vs. other Big 12 schools?

Yes, they're still hurting and some of them actually know this.

If bill does bounce after the bowl, they will officially no longer be hurting, according to the loose metric they seem to lean on.  At that point, we will need a KSU fb hurting thread because they will pound us yearly, or something.

Mostly due to their close proximity to the KC metro I'm sure.
