They all expect that Beatty is just expecting to be at KU for a cup of coffee, recruit high school kids, and graciously allow himself to be fired after 3 or 4 abysmal seasons.
But a pattern I've noticed among failing coaches, is that when they feel their job is on the line, they ditch that "development of high school players" strategy and go for broke on recruiting juco kids. Prince, Gill, and Weis all did it. Once Beatty loses out this season, I bet he starts looking at juco players a lot more in an effort to get some Ws immediately to save his job.
