Just read that an SEC coach said it will now be open season on recruiting LSU commits goven the Miles firing. Can Coach Hull get in on some of these guys? They had quite the class it sounds.

Unrelated note but, Javaris Russell 3 star OLB decommitted from Mississippi State and took a visit to KU week 2. He loved our weight room and the brand new business school since that will be his major.
No reason we shouldn't be able to begin poaching LSU recruits.

Hopefully a new staff doesn't try to poach our current Louisiana commits. Scout and TOS don't show them with LSU offers as of yet. That could make them easy picking for a new staff to pick up late.

If you are gonna have a wish list I'd put Mike McCarthy on the top of the list. He may be interested in KU. He knows the area and coached at two Kansas schools. He would be my first choice

He had more connections to the KU area than Harbaugh ever had. I wouldn't rule it out. His contract expires in 2018 .
And his daughter I think went to KU. He may become Beaty's replacement by then. If he doesn't get Green Bay back to the Super Bowl by then his seat will be getting hot. He coached for the Chiefs, at Baker , and Fort Hays.

McCarthy is a QB coaching genius. KU would become QB university with him at the helm. IMHO.

2018 is the perfect time to make this move. The KU AD should at least approach McCarthy about his interest or recommendations of who could take over. The KU roster will be in much better shape by then.

They all expect that Beatty is just expecting to be at KU for a cup of coffee, recruit high school kids, and graciously allow himself to be fired after 3 or 4 abysmal seasons.

But a pattern I've noticed among failing coaches, is that when they feel their job is on the line, they ditch that "development of high school players" strategy and go for broke on recruiting juco kids.  Prince, Gill, and Weis all did it.  Once Beatty loses out this season, I bet he starts looking at juco players a lot more in an effort to get some Ws immediately to save his job.
