KU is going to win on Saturday.  No doubt about it. Lock it up!
Aren't you the same guy who predicted (after the first quarter last week) that KU would win going away?
No that was someone else.

From some K-State/KU facilities pissing contest on the Phog:

Quote
Everything you have built in the last 5 years is stuff we already had. Are they newer and nicer? Of course they are, but are they 10 years ahead of ours? No, The only significant problem we still have is our Stadium, all of our support facilities are world class.

yeah that was a great post in a great thread

I'll never get tired of them. the "Snyder winning the big one" thread is really special, mostly because every comparison they make to Snyder's success and record in big games is a basketball coach.

GFA, the ONLY problem with their stadium is their stadium.

I also think they need to be more careful throwing around "world class."

I have seen there support facilities and that is not how I would describe them.

Apparently they don't cut it there either.  I tried to think of the most 3rd World place (maybe it could qualify as 4th or 5th world), and went with Somalia.

Here is the Mogadishu stadium.  I think they are ahead of KU football in stadium facilities (sad to say):

Not sure.

I guess I do have to give KU credit though, the Somalis have a track around their stadium.  Unless, of course, it might be that the main sport played there is/was track and field.

Man, this thread makes me feel worse and worse for KU every time I look at it. (mods, can I get an emoticon with just a single tear drop running down the cheek, ala "Iron Eyes Cody" in the hold anti-pollution commercial from the 70s?).

All those facilities have drop tile ceilings.  Let that sink in.

The booster club with drop tile ceilings and tablecloths surrounding by stacking chairs it looks like the banquet room at a Lutheran church.

Hey, hey.  :nono:  Don't be going there.  As a Missouri Synod Lutheran, we would have issues with such a demeaning comparo (not so sure about the ELCA).

I really feel like we've failed them as their big brother.

Like, we should be rearing them in many ways... but to see how shitty all their stuff is, and how delusional, poverty-stricken and fiscally irresponsible they are, kind of makes me sad and like we're part of the problem.

I mean can you imagine watching the cats, and they are down 3, in field goal range, and the qb fumbles the ball trying to spike it and the clock runs out?  I mean I don't know how i'd react, it's such a bizarre situation and so KU.

It's a funny way to lose, but they were only technically in what is is generally understood as "field goal range." I think their kicker is 1-5 in 40+?

I'm still a little bummed out that they didn't get to kick the winning FG... There's no doubt in my mind that all the FG celebration practice they did under Chaz has not been forgotten and I, for one, wanted to witness one of those celebrations in all it's glory.

:tsc:

Maybe I'm mistaken, but wasn't KU down by three? Meaning it would only have been a game-tying, going to OT field goal?
A win is a win you nitwit!

Good for you SS.

I am going try and take the entire Stone family over there this fall.  Short drive, its next door to Lenexa and we have friends there.  tickets are incredibly easy to get and you can show up at game time, or after and sit wherever you want (If you get in after opening kick, you have less of a chance of hearing the F word chant)

we will then hit Mass Ave for some chipoltle or even BWW.

Pro tip: The only game they sell tickets to, is the K-State game. When I was in college, we figured out a system in lawrence. Someone would go in early and then leave and they'd stamp their hand. That person would come to the tailgate and roll his stamp on our hands. Guess what? It will show up on your hand as well and you can just walk right in. Super easy.

Obviously i'm not a poor anymore, but this might be a good tip for the youngsters.

I get tickets free from the gym

What is the current exchange rate at Taco John's?  Do you even have to buy anything to get tickets?
