Perhaps my favorite defense mechanism on this fanboy cult site is the one where anyone who responds to multiple posters through multiple posts is accused of "melting down."  It's a great way to try to silence opposing viewpoints and discourage anyone from interrupting the ongoing circle jerk.  The #1 sign of any cult is opposition to critical thinking.

Doesn't seem to be a consensus #1 after some in-depth research

I'm not going to find the post where he used "water" as support for KU's football facilities being better...but LOL at Potter Pond (basically one of those water treatment things) being a feature.

The only time water would come in to play for upping the value of a stadium would be a lazy river.

Is beems arguing that ku is better than kstate at football, because that's Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

Here's how a reasonable persons would handicap it:
Players - Cats
Staff - Cats
Facilities - Cats

Here's how an enraged lunatic would handicap it:
Subjective impression of topography in the immediate vicinity - beaks
Intangible and conjectural potential ceiling of the program if everything were to go perfectly right - beaks
2015 nfl udfa's - beaks

Am I missing something?

That's not quite what he's arguing.  Out of morbid curiosity I decided to go over to the Phog and look for the thread in question.  His argument is that KU had more NFL talent than KSU because of the results of the 2015 draft.  While I will concede 3 is a bigger number than 2, it is pretty ridiculous to compare the NFL talent level of Team A to Team B based on one draft class.

Another real gem was where someone (maybe Beems, maybe someone else, don't really care) tried to count Jake Heaps as a KU player in their list of UDFAs.

Yeah, thats like counting the spring game as a win.

That only accounts for undergraduates and isn't at all surprising considering KU is a liberal arts school.  More info:

I think the main thing I am finding lacking is the critical thinking.

Stevesie is correct, there were some people that were getting really worked up in this thread. I am kind of disappointed that I missed the action and had to do a 6 page catch up. Not really mad, just disappointed.

I just want to make sure I understand this.

When KU fans storm the football field, and in one case send one of their best players to the dressing room in need of medical attention (NU 2006) and tear down a $5K plus goal post, and then go toss it in a pound where it eventually must be fished out by KU grounds crew.

That's no where close to rushing the basketball court?

Only in  jaded hardcore Kool-Aid fan world.

Do you really think the two scenes were even remotely comparable, and if so, why didn't KU rushing the field make national headlines the next day and become the leading story on ESPN's Outside the Lines?  Is there just a conspiracy against poor lil' old K-State, or what?

No conspiracy. The difference is that in KSU's case, the opposing team's coach complained in the post game press conference about the court storming and then K-State's hyper-sensitive, goody two shoes AD somehow felt it would be a good idea to apologize to anyone with a microphone. In KU's case, no one complained to the media afterwards and no one from KU's Ath Dept issued a public apology for something that happens weekly nationwide. As a result, no one outside of Lawrence or the denizens of this board even knew anything happened.

To be entirely accurate about which 2014 team had more "NFL talent" on it, we will really have to wait for four more NFL Drafts. Beems' only legitimate point in this discussion is "KU had more players drafted in 2015."  That is without argument.

Now, let's hold this until May 2019 in order to accurately evaluate this premise of his statement.

Also, I honestly don't know which 3 KU players got drafted, but were they Turner recruits or Charlie recruits? Or maybe a leftover Fat Man recruit?

beems likes to argue that had Snyder went to KU instead of K-State that KU would be better, so factor that in however you seem fit.
Well he's right.  All though it's a pretty ridiculous proposition.

We even have a fax number listed on that one website where beems was comparing KU and KSU. How poor does KU have to be to not be able to afford a fax machine? :sdeek:

This portion of the thread will run its course when shortly after the body bag has been zipped up, you hear a muffled beems voice from inside saying "haha, I so totally trolled you guys lulz".

Hey guys, just a reminder.  You're not allowed to get excited about a series of $80 to $90 million dollar football facilities projects.   Just like court/field storming, the only fans allowed to have that kind of fun are KU fans.

I mean sure, the handful of KU fans that actually care about football were driving by and walking down to take pictures when they were building the Anderson Football Center so they could post online and talk about it incessantly and get all excited about it.  But they're KU fans, so they're allowed to have fun and be excited.  For most KU fans it would have been more exciting if they would have added on another wing to AFH but that's another story for another time.

But you K-State fans, you shut your big yappers about the two largest athletic facilities projects in Kansas public university history (by far)!!

Got it dax, we should put this sign all around Manhattan
