Realistically, Beatty isn't getting anywhere close to 5 wins in year 1 or year 2. This is a long term rebuilding project, and KU is going to have to give him the time to see it through. If he averages 5 wins per season over his first 5 years, it will be because he's winning 10+ games in years 4 and 5.

ok so if in the first 5 years its 2-10, 3-9, 5-7, 7-5, 8-4 I guess that's ok but I would want more

Hell, an average of 5 wins over 5 years would be huge. You have to assume he will be well under 5 his first 2 years so that would show pretty solid improvement.

did you guys see that article in the realignment thread? ku is currently in one of the worst 5 year stretches in the history of college football. like, they're the worst power 5 team in the world right now and it's not even close. 25 wins over the next 5 years would be like winning 10 orange bowls (huge to them, but no one else would notice)

K-State went 4-50-1 from 1985 to 1989. At the time, they had one bowl appearance in program history. But yeah, there's absolutely no way KU can ever climb out of this hole. HUR HUR HUR HUR!!!!

Chuck Weis left Beatty nothing at all to work with. I see 1-11, 2-10, 5-7, 9-3, 11-1 as the best case. That might happen if Beatty is as good as LHC Bill Snyder, anyway. The challenge will be getting Hawk fans to stay bought in after year 3.

Listened to BITB yesterday, and an analyst at ESPN regraded the 2011 Big 12 recruiting class based on how the players actually performed. KU was ranked 1 or 2, and fell to 7, OU fell to last. Wildcats 2011 class was #1.
