The "what now's" are endless for college athletics.   What happens when academia steps in and says enough is enough and demands the whole thing get shut down, or trundled off to be a for profit minor league for the NFL and NBA completely disassociated from institutions of higher learning?   Or demands that only true scholar athletes get athletic SCHOLARships and the one and doners, and 16 hours of online art appreciation guys have to go into professional development, again, completely disassociated from instituations of higher learning?

Well, when the stories start coming out that those gladiators are being forced to play the game, please post them so we can discuss in depth.

For many of these youths, football is presented as the only avenue to receive a college education.  To make matters worse, the moneymen and kingpins like KSU athletics purposely prevent them for learning the true dangers of participating in the sport.  Sad. . .

The College doesn't need a big endowment.  Topeka gives them EVERYTHING they want, courtesy of the Kansas taxpayer.  Meanwhile, we have to privately fund all of our projects.   

I think Strong Hall should tell Der Fuhrer and his minions that for every dollar they take away from KU, we take away a little more of their control on how we operate.

A mere elaboration on a consistent theme from KU fans:  Football (which KU sucks at) is dangerous and will be superseded by less injurious sports like basketball (what a shock) and soccer.  They want this view to be widely held, and value that goal even higher than an invitation to join big 10.
