poor guy.  hope he gets to feeling better.

 :frown:

another post further down had charlie saying on the radio that this is the best he's felt in years  :frown:

living with that kind of pain must be awful (not gEing)

My wife's uncle is CW-esque heavy, and he's always in debilitating pain.

It's really awful, and you feel bad for him.  He tries to eat better, exercise, etc., but the pain makes it almost unbearable to move, so exercise is pretty much out the window.

Anyway, I feel bad for Charlie.  That sucks.

http://www.kshb.com/news/region-kansas/university-of-kansas-student-hit-by-car-outside-football-stadium-saturday

What are the odds out of the 5 or 10 students to be in the stadium that one gets hit by a car also near the football stadium. Surely a lightning strike hitting a powerball winner would be more likely.  T's and P's.

That's what happens when you don't have 80 acres of asphalt parking lot to protect you from street traffic.

I haven't been to KU's stadium since the Mangino era, but I am assuming there are probs a bunch of trees blocking sight lines too.  Trees  :shakesfist:

It was probably some poor soul who had not attended a KU football game before. Game day traffic really isn't a thing there, so traffic really whizzes by. You have to stay on your toes, because the drivers on the road aren't expecting to see pedestrians.

*I don't think there is any way Charlie is back next year.  I'm not a doctor but he is in obvious pain.  I predict he resigns after the season due to health concerns.  I'm not saying I want this to happen or hope for this to happen but I think this is it for him.  He clearly doesn't feel well and he acts like his heart isn't in it this year.

Yeah, Charlie looked terrible.  He could barely walk onto the field after halftime and really needs to be in a wheelchair or on a scooter.  I felt that the minimal interactions with the team were partially because it hurt so much to move around

I saw this photo the other day and thought it was strange, but I guess if he's in pain it makes sense to sit in the cart

Good thing Chaz has his meathook out left to counter balance that thing.  Looks like it'd just roll over otherwise.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

No doubt:

"hey coach, would you rather stand on this blistering hot asphalt track or chill in this golf cart?"

Yep. He should just rough ridin' embrace the cart. Make it part of his persona. Put a huge rough ridin' Jayhawk head on it and just constantly wheel up and down the sidelines. Make the cart the face of the program, is what I'm saying. Carthawks. Jaycarts. They both work.

Think of all the sponsorship space they could sell on that cart.

Re: 1st game helmets Post Rating (7 votes)
I'd rather the helmets say either KU or Kansas on them and the Jayhawks are small stickers put on the helmets and awarded to the KU players like the Buckeyes  that Ohio State uses for outstanding play.

how awful would that look, now if they put an egg as a helmet sticker im all in

Something like this, but you know, with a Jayhawk on it.

Damn, I didn't think of that. unless the whole helmet tips back like a hungry hungry hippo.

How about one like this instead?  Could mount a rear facing recliner (grid iron club seats) in the back, and just back Weis up to the field....
