Man, so much history taken away with that track. The Kansas Relays were originally held at the stadium in 1923, and now they're at some sterile location out in West Lawrence. Imagine how cool it would be to bring it back to Memorial some day!
Their shunning of something as important as tradition is both sad and typical. Sometimes I wish those guys would think with thier heads and not the wallets scrap materials of near by construction and trucking operations.
it's going to look a shitload better once they put the bus stop in
Many times walking down the hill to the Relays and such . . . now if I were to ever make it back it's off to a soul less concrete and asphalt track stadium that looks like it was just cut and pasted off the plans for the next high school football stadium in Johnson County. Sad
12th of May 1804Fair day. Mr. McLain mustered a small crew to attend the races of the Kanza tribe at a spot one and one half days ride west of the Great Hill.
idea: start making fun of their super bowl winning HC who is on the path to turn their ship around if he's given enough time. they will fire cw and send themselves spiraling down the toilet even further.

SadLittle known fact that the new track is the original site of the Relays and in fact track and field was invented in Lawrence.A lost excerpt from the journal of Meriwether Lewis:Quote from: Meriwether Lewis 12th of May 1804Fair day.
