QuoteDoes anyone else find it ironic that the negligence of the KU facilities department to leave the long jump runs uncovered possibly led to our best player being concussed and missing half of the season?Yes, I sure do.

I find it weird how adamant the squawk selling me his tickets is about meeting at Johnny's Tavern.
My life as a KU alum is much simpler now. I only follow the team coached by Bill Self.

As a high school student in Wichita, it was interesting in how the Wildcats tried to pluck with my Jayhawk football craziness. I can now usually watch a complete KU football game without trashing the television or room. The Orange Bowl victory helped. But lately, I seem to wander off the game some time during the second half. I will faithfully wear my 2008 Tee shirt- Best Year Ever! Or maybe even drag out my long sleeved Fed EX Orange Bowl one, so blue, upon blue, upon blue. I call this one coming up, escape from the bottom of the Toilet Bowl. Good Luck Charlie and team!

LAWRENCE — Gavin Howard remembers Day 194 clearly. It was late May, and after a lift, the Kansas center glanced over to the red, digital countdown clock in the weight room … 194 days until the Kansas State game and counting.“I just looked up, and I was like, ‘That’s a long ways away.’ And now, it’s almost over,” Howard said. “It seems crazy.”As if the significance of the Sunflower Showdown hadn’t been emphasized enough before, KU coach Charlie Weis added another touch before this season in the weight room: On one side, a digital clock shows the time left until KU’s next game, and on the other, a clock ticks down toward the Jayhawks’ game against the Wildcats. The tactic should sound familiar. For years, Kansas State has had its own countdown clock at Vanier Football Complex that shows the time left until its game against KU.
I thought they (Kstate) had a countdown for each game, so I guess once a year it would also countdown to the squawk game.
