CFB season is so much more fun when KU doesn't suck. Playing on Fridays is just icing on top.

I have to say it, i`m pretty excited for tonight's B12 vs big 10 nationally televised matchup!  I think the `Hawks actually have a chance.  :tsc:

KU doesn't just have a chance, they're favored by about 3.5. Illinois just barely squeaked by in their home opener.

I'm serious. There was some satisfaction in passing the torch to new Futility U, but I'm 100x more interested in watching KU games now than I was for the last decade. Even for the games I want KU to lose (Texas and K-State for sure, others depending on circumstances), I care more about it being interesting/fun to watch than I do the result itself (except for the Sunflower Showdown OBVIOUSLY).

I can't get myself to care enough about KU for their success or lack thereof to have any affect on my week to week college football viewing experience. There has also been exactly two seasons in my life when they didn't suck. When they weren't going 2-10, their ceiling was always 6-7. I believe they have one 8 win season and one 10 win season.

Still a nice batch of tickets available tonight for those interested in going to see this big match.  Lots of folks giving tickets away as well.

If you can, grab a pair and take your bestie.  As starseed pointed out, some are calling this the biggest non-con home game in KU history.

Karla wants to go in the worst way, but Karl reminded her that football was just a distraction from basketball and if they spent money going to the game.  Friday night at Johnny's PV may have to be put on hiatus for awhile.  Karl is on high alert for raised prices at Johnny's PV and asks (rhetorically) if they really needed to do that renovation.

TBH I kind of enjoyed that period of 10+ years where our rival was a national laughingstock

I'm talking about the product on the field, not their W/L "success." I don't care if they win 2 games or 6, the KU team last year and this year is lightyears more enjoyable to watch than anything they've had since Reesing.

I do think Lightpole is a good recruiter and coach and will get them to a very respectable spot quickly. The question is, will he be their Snyder and stay regardless of offers from SEC and big 10 programs?

I think the odds are pretty good he will be.  The only threat here will be if somehow Fickell flames out at Wisco, and even then I don't think LL is the direction that program wants to go.  As long as he keeps them respectable, he'll be a lifer at KU I think.

The guy is already 59 - if he's going to make a move to another school, he's going to have to do it in the next few years. After that, he'll have reached his expiration date in the eyes of most schools.

FRIDAY NIGHT IS FOR HAWK FOOTBALL

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.
