I listened to the KU pre-game during a short drive yesterday. Listeners were told the new coaching staff had to embrace KU football culture. Maybe people have forgotten with all the losing of late, but listeners were assured KU had a football culture. Miles and Beatty brought in their own systems that igonored the KU culture. Leipold needs to embrace it like Mangino did, they insisted. It wasn't exactly defined what KU culture is or what Mangino did to embrace KU culture. But it did give them an excuse to say the name of Todd Reesing, upon which they fell into some kind of trancelike reverie where everything is wonderful for the crimson and blue. And with that, the whole KU football culture talking point was forgotten, as well as it should be.
